Abike Kafayat Oluwatoyin Dabiri-Erewa is a distinguished Nigerian journalist, politician, and public servant with a long-standing commitment to national development and diaspora engagement. She is widely recognized for her dedication to advocating for Nigerians living abroad and strengthening the connection between Nigeria and its global community.
Born on October 10, 1962, in Jos, Plateau State, Abike Dabiri-Erewa had an illustrious career in journalism before transitioning into public service. She gained national prominence as a broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), where she hosted the popular program Newsline, earning respect for her professionalism and impactful storytelling.

She played a key role in advocating for the rights and welfare of Nigerians in the diaspora.
Her journey into politics began when she was elected as a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Ikorodu Constituency of Lagos State from 2003 to 2015. During her tenure, she served as the Chairperson of the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs, where she played a key role in advocating for the rights and welfare of Nigerians in the diaspora.
In recognition of her expertise and passion, she was appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora. She later became the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), where she continues to champion policies and programs that support Nigerians abroad, encourage diaspora investment, and promote national development.
